Two facts that decide a Monday
How long, and what it has cost.
Computed from the daily cost and the date each person went on bench, so the screen is current when you open it rather than when somebody last updated a file. Sorted by cost accrued, because the alphabet has never once been the right order for this, and banded — fresh, warming, hot, critical — so a sixty-day problem does not look like a six-day one.

The person at the top of that list is a candidate for the requirement that came in this morning, already in the system with skills, rates and notice period on the record.

A consultant on the bench is not a separate object from the candidate they were or the employee they are.
- Both sides of the rate are on the role —
Bill rate and pay rate sit on the requisition, so the two numbers are on the record before you submit anybody. There is no computed margin field — the arithmetic is still yours.
- Coming off bench closes the loop —
Marking somebody deployed stamps the end date and reports the total days idle, so the bench has a history rather than only a present. And it is refused for somebody who was never on it, which is why the numbers stay trustworthy.
Before you price a bench on it
Three answers, one of them no.
›Does it show revenue at risk?
Not today. It shows days idle and cost accrued, computed daily. We would rather name what ships than describe a figure you will not find.
›Where does the daily cost come from?
It is set per consultant, and the accrual runs from the bench start date.
›Does this work for permanent staff between projects?
Yes — the mechanism is a person, a daily cost and a start date, not a contract type.
